Classic meets modern: Jaroslav Valečka and Galerie Twenty-six at WIKAM in Vienna

Vienna, February 28 – March 8, 2026 – The Ferstel Palace in the center of Vienna is a true artistic gem – the city's unique Venetian-Florentine Trecent style provides the ideal backdrop for the traditional WIKAM fair, which celebrates more than 45 years of existence this year.

"Art fairs are a key part of the art market today. Exhibitors generate a large part of their annual turnover here, and the continuity of the fair creates trust between galleries, artists, and collectors," says organizer Horst Szaal. This year's edition comes after the cancellation of two major Viennese fairs, so WIKAM offers visitors and professionals the opportunity to meet the most sought-after artists and galleries.

Among the 26 exhibitors from Austria and Germany are international icons such as Helmut Ditsch, Gottfried Helnwein, Alex Katz, Hermann Nitsch, Hubert Scheibl, and Andy Warhol. The domestic scene is represented by Christian Ludwig Attersee, Herbert Brandl, Markus Prachensky, Arnulf Rainer, Hans Staudacher, and Max Weiler, among others.

Jaroslava Valečka will also be represented at WIKAM, with his works presented by Galerie Twenty-six. The exhibition combines classic and modern principles – visitors will see one larger masterpiece complemented by several smaller ones, which together map the author's work and his unique view of the connection between historical tradition and contemporary expression.

The fair offers a unique opportunity not only to view outstanding works of art, but also to meet the gallery owners, artists, and experts behind their selection in person. For connoisseurs and collectors, WIKAM is a guarantee of quality, prestige, and inspiration.
